Travel and expense industry leaders team up for survey asking how corporations handle expenses – and how staff cheat them

Paris, London, 7th December 2011 – KDS, a leading European provider of corporate travel and expense management systems, has joined forces with EPSA and DéplacementsPros.com on a survey which seeks to understand the processes and policies corporations have in place to handle their expense management. In addition, the survey – which is conducted anonymously – tackles the more difficult questions around how and why some employees choose to cheat on these expense procedures.

A previous survey, conducted by KDS in 2008, returned a number of interesting findings about corporate expense management processes. Of particular note, 49% of survey respondents claimed to know of ways to cheat their company’s expense process, with 13% stating that they had already done so. Three years later, the 2011 survey aims to find out what has changed – what new processes have been put in place, and what kind of effect is this having on employees?

Because the survey is conducted anonymously, participants are able to speak openly and honestly about their experiences, even in circumstances where they have operated outside of established company policy.

“When conducting a survey which touches on personal and potentially sensitive topics such as these, it’s absolutely vital that people are assured that their responses will be treated with the utmost confidentiality,” said KDS Marketing Director Stanislas Berteloot. “We realise that we’re asking people to be very forthcoming about some topics which they would normally not speak openly about, so in order to get honest and accurate results, it’s crucial that this survey is operated under conditions of complete anonymity.”

To participate in this global survey, please click here: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/NDF2011uk. This should only take a few minutes of your time, and will give you the opportunity to have your voice heard on the ways corporate expense management can be improved.

The results will be published on January 26th, 2012 on KDS’ website, www.kds.com.
