KDS marks two years of growth and innovation as part of the American Express Global Business Travel family

October 15, 2018

With the support of the global TMC, KDS has steadily increased its client base and R&D investment to simplify the user experience.

  • KDS R&D investment as a proportion of its revenue is among the highest in the technology sector at 23%.
  • As of Q3 2018, the company posted a 19% year-over-year increase in transactions.
  • In the last 12 months, the number of active users increased by 16% over the same period in 2017, with 300 new clients in 2018.
  • By the end of 2018, the company will have increased its staff by 40% since the GBT acquisition.

Paris, October 16, 2018 – On the second anniversary of its acquisition by American Express Global Business Travel (GBT), KDS announces strong growth, invigorated innovation plans and a commitment to building the best R&D teams in the industry.

A disruptive approach for simplified business travel

KDS has a 24-year history of industry-first innovation in business travel technology. In October 2016, GBT acquired the company to create the first seamless end-to-end experience centred on the modern business traveller.  Since then, KDS has continued to simplify the user experience of the award-winning KDS Neo travel solution by injecting insights from usage data into its development decisions. Over the last two years, the technology company has focused on creating the most robust algorithm that expands booking scenarios to give travellers the choice of arranging an entire end-to-end trip in one sitting, or, if preferred, request single elements of a trip as their plans progress. In 2019, development will accelerate as the company continues to invest in its R&D, increasing the platform’s ease of use and performance.

“One of the most exciting results of our closer relationship with GBT is the dynamism it injects into our business. We have been able to accelerate product development and extend this offering to a larger client base, which in turn feeds our R&D. It’s a virtuous cycle that has paid off for all our users,” says Roxana Bressy, CEO of KDS.

Broader customer base, expanded markets and growing teams

As adoption of KDS Neo increases, KDS is expanding into new markets. The company has recently landed clients in the Nordics and in 2019 plans to continue its expansion in the U.S.. Since 2016, the company has also been recruiting heavily across all functions to support its growth, with emphasis on tech profiles for its accelerated R&D programme. By the end of 2018, the two-year increase in staff is scheduled to total 40% globally.

”KDS has embarked on an aggressive strategy focused on delivering KDS Neo to our expanding customer base and continually innovating for the best user experience. Ware now at a pivotal phase in our development and are planning for continued momentum as we finish out 2018 and head into the next year with team reinforced by the largest technology recruitment plan in the industry,” concludes Bressy.
