KDS Neo 18.1: an innovative new search form, enhanced usability and enriched content for greater simplicity and speed

Paris, 31 January 2018 – KDS ( the leading supplier of integrated online business travel management solutions, is further optimising its KDS Neo solution with the launch of version 18.1. This update, which launched on 20 January 2018, offers a new, intuitive search form and integrates new and updated functionality designed to make life easier for managers, business travellers and travel arrangers.


Business travellers are motivated by simplicity and speed.  These two factors are the most frequently cited by business travellers[1] and form the basis for all development at KDS. With business trips often requiring modification before travelling, to adapt to changing circumstances, travellers want flexibility and an easy way to modify or cancel trips, a process that traditionally required offline support from travel agencies and additional associated costs.  This new version of KDS Neo is focused on these factors giving greater flexibility and a quicker route to booking business travel by simplifying navigation and delivering over 70 updated or new functionalities to further improve the overall user experience.

A new search screen

Following extensive user testing, KDS Neo 18.1 delivers a new design for the main search screen, which enables users to research and book single segments (a flight/train, hotel or car) or a full end to end trip with all component parts from one simple search.  The redesigned screen improves the user experience further giving detailed explanations on how to search for optimal trip recommendations and guidance on policy compliance.  The main search screen now also includes details of previously booked trips, enabling the user to quickly and easily rebook frequently travelled routes.

More flexibility for hotel booking

Business trips are not always straight forward.  To give travellers greater flexibility KDS Neo now enables them to book partial and multiple hotel stays within a single search and trip itinerary.  This means that a traveller can organise their stay over several nights in different hotels and locations from a single search screen, all within company policy.


Around 20% of business trips require cancellation of part or all of the trip due to circumstances that are impossible to anticipate when booking. With KDS Neo, travellers are now able to do this straight from the tool, without requiring offline assistance which not only saves time but also costs.


New ground transportation partnership, extending global coverage

The breadth of content and in particular ground transportation options available through KDS Neo is what sets it apart from other players on the market.  Adding to content partners like Addison Lee and Heathrow Express fully integrated and bookable in KDS Neo, the company has recently signed a partnership agreement with Mozio, an aggregator for global taxis and shuttles.  This partnership further extends the global coverage for ground transportation within KDS Neo and strengthens the company’s position in the market giving travellers a fast, flexible and complete planning and booking tool for any and all parts of their business trip.

Enhancing support for TMC partners

In addition to the user interface and functionality updates, the new KDS Neo 18.1 version now offers travel agency user support service teams a diagnostic tool which enables them to access a user’s search actions to help them more effectively and efficiently troubleshoot when supporting users.
